The Phoenix Macedon Ranges Art & Craft group was formed after the 1983 Ash Wednesday bushfires which decimated the Macedon Ranges area of Victoria and affected many local artists and craftspeople.

PHOENIX: Arising from the ashes

We are a multimedia group with current members interested in a wide range of activities including pottery, painting, sculpture, glassware including jewellery, wood turning and wood crafts, and textiles including spinning and weaving. See the gallery on the homepage for examples of our members’ works.

The group promotes friendship, learning and interest in arts and crafts in general and helps to produce the motivation to work towards a goal, namely our exhibitions and sales. These are normally held twice a year, giving each member the opportunity to display and sell their work as part of a larger group and often in conjunction with other community activities. More information is on the exhibitions page.
